Waves vs. Bendigo Saturday Night

This Saturday night the reigning WNBL Champions Bendigo Spirit head to the WA Basketball Centre to take on our Alcohol. Think Again West Coast Waves.

The Waves welcomed back Australian Opal & Hawks local Natalie Burton last weekend and saw some vast improvements on recent results. Townsville jumped the young Waves to lead by 26 points at quarter time, however the Waves won the next two quarters and ended up going down by 32 points.

Young Willetton point guard Mikayla Pirini was a standout with the 17 year old playing 19 minutes of game time for just one turnover while also adding three rebounds and two assists and impressing head coach Kennedy Kereama.

Staring for Bendigo on Saturday will be four-time Olympian (3x Silver Medallist & 1x Bronze Medallist) Kristi Harrower. Harrower is also a WNBL championship player, has attended four senior FIBA World Championships including the 2006 Gold Medal year and was the WNBL MVP in 2010.

The Waves will still be without starting point guard Shani Amos and co-captain Deanna Smith who are sidelined with knee injuries.

Tickets for the match start at just $5 and are available at the door.
