Kickz101 Perth SBL Players of the Week

The week Ten “Kickz101 Perth” Men’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Cooper Land of the Orange Autos Rockingham Flames.

The Rockingham Flames are flying in 2014, currently sitting top of the Men’s SBL Ladder on 12 wins and 3 losses with star import Cooper Land a major contributor.

Land put on a show for his home side on Saturday night when the Flames hosted the Perth Redbacks at Mike Barnett Sports Complex recording 46 points to go with 15 rebounds and 3 assists as he led Rockingham to a fourteen point victory 117 to 103.

Cooper Land has now recorded more points than anyone this season with a total of 451 at 30.1 per game while his brother and team mate Taylor Land is leading the league in assists with 115 at 7.7 per game.

Cooper and Taylor form a forward/guard combo which is arguable the strongest in the league and with key players Thomas Remmerswaal and Andrew Bowman playing well and Ryan Godfrey back in the side, coach Utley will be looking to lead his team deep into the playoffs as they strive to get their hands on their clubs first ever SBL Championship.

Other considerations for the award included;

Luke Nevill (Kalamunda), Jarrad Prue (Lakeside), Quinn McDowell (Willetton), Corey Easley (Perry Lakes), Seb Salinas (Joondalup), Jordan Wild (Stirling), Justin Cecil (Perry Lakes), Brad Tinsley (Lakeside),  Brad Jackson (Lakeside), Benjamin Smith (Kalamunda) , Ty Harrelson (South West), Stanley Okoye (Perth), Gavin Field (Cockburn), Odartey Blankson (Geraldton), Duran Blue (Goldfields), Louis Timms (Kalamunda), Taylor Mullenax (Mandurah) & Taylor Land (Rockingham).

The week Ten “Kickz101 Perth” Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Amy Patton of the Collie Crane Hire South West Slammers.

Patton was outstanding for the home side scoring a game high 31 points to go with 14 rebounds and 6 steals to lead her team to a thirteen point victory over the Eagles 60-47.

Patton now averaging 20.3 points per game and 12.2 rebounds per game is the key to the Collie Crane Hire South West Slammers (9th) getting their season back on track as they look to improve on their 3 & 7 record and push for a playoffs spot in the back half of the season.
