WSBL Player of the Week
The week nine Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Louella Tomlinson of the GoodLife Homes Willetton Tigers.
In a top four battle between the Magic and the Tigers at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre on Friday night, star Louella Tomlinson proved the difference between the teams recording a game high 21 points, 8 rebounds and an amazing 11 blocks to ensure Willetton were runaway winners 63 to 53.
Tomlinson has been a defensive force for the Tigers this year leading the league with 5.7 blocks per game and sitting third in rebounds with 11.0 per game.
Special mentions:
Cockburn’s Deanna Smith continued her dominant form in the SBL just one stat away from a triple double on Friday night with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists then backing up on Saturday night with 27 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.
Ashleigh Grant of the Lakeside Lightning was outstanding in their win with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists.
Sami Whitcomb was the standout performer in the Flames win over the Wolves with 21 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals.
