MSBL Player of the Week

The week one Men’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Cooper Land of the Nags Head Tavern Rockingham Flames.

Cooper Land looked back to his 2014 league MVP best on Saturday night as the Rockingham Flames defeated the Willetton Tigers on their home court 106-100.

It was a dominant performance by Land as he went 12 of 20 from the field to record 34 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 blocks guiding his team to victory.

Land opted to rest in the SBL off-season to get his body right, rather than playing for his regular club Rizing Fukuoka in Japan and it looks to have paid off in a big way.

If performances like this continue in 2016, expect Land to be right up there again in the MVP race with the Flames also looking strong playoff contenders with Coopers brother, Taylor Land, still to join the team later in the season.
