WSBL Player of the Week

THE week three Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded Stacey Barr of the Kalamunda Eastern Suns.

It was worth the wait for Eastern Suns fans as Stacey Barr took the court for the first time this SBL season fresh off a full season with the Perth Lynx in the WNBL.

On Friday night Barr was clearly the most dominant player on the court as the Eastern Suns defeated the East Perth Eagles 76 to 64.

Barr recorded a game high 32 points to go with 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.

On Sunday the Eastern Suns, without star player Melissa Moyle, faced the most difficult assignment in the SBL right now as they took on the red-hot Sami Whitcomb and the Rockingham Flames.

Barr was again outstanding for the home side to record 29 points and 5 rebounds with the Flames eventual winners 93 to 102.

With the addition of Barr, the Kalamunda Eastern Suns look to be a team destined for playoffs in 2016 and Eastern Suns fans will be excited by what they have seen so far from their newest recruit.

Special Mentions:

Sami Whitcomb (Rockingham Flames), Deanna Smith (Perry Lakes Hawks), Ashley Gilmore (Perth Redbacks), Darcee Garbin (Rockingham Flames), Courtney Byrnes (Lakeside Lightning), Ajay Jones (Perth Redbacks), Cherridy Thornton (Cockburn Cougars), Amber Land (Stirling Senators), Adijat Adams (Mandurah Magic) and Casey Mihovilovich (Mandurah Magic).
