MSBL Player of the Week
THE week fourteen Men’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Marcus Goode of the Lapa Brazilian BBQ Restaurant Cockburn Cougars.
This is the second week in a row Cockburn import Marcus Goode has been named SBL Player of the Week after another stunning performance for the Cougars on Saturday night against the Willetton Tigers at Wally Hagan Stadium.
Going into the game on Saturday night, the Cougars knew a win against the Tigers would see them take top spot on the SBL Standings.
It was a tough start for the Cougars who were down 50 to 62 at half time before Marcus Goode dominated and led his team to victory with a game high 32 points, 19 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 4 blocks.
Goode’s contribution is obvious in the stats as he currently leads the league in both rebounds and blocks with 14.7 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game while also averaging in the top 15 for scoring with 22.2 points per game.
Cockburn are firing on all cylinders right now, currently on a six game win streak and sitting top of the table with 15 wins and 3 losses for the season.
