The Kalamunda Eastern Suns welcomed the Australian Central Eagles to town for this clash. With a 2-0 start to the season the Suns were looking to extend their run to three, standing in their way is the Eagles and new import Kelsey Maffin. Starring for the Suns was Lynx junior Emma Lobb who finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Ably backing up Lobb was US College returnee Sam Norwood with 17 points and 12 rebounds. The Eagles struggled against the talented Suns outfit and had just two players in double figures with Maffin registering 14 points and 5 rebounds in her first outing. Also providing support was Elizabeth Zezan with 11 points. The Suns smashed the Eagles on the boards 46-27 to run out 31 point winners 74-43.

The Southside Mitsubishi Redbacks hosted the Southlands Boulevarde Willetton Tigers at Belmont. It was the Redbacks led by Week 1 PowerPlayer of the week Brooke Hiddlestone who controlled the match early. They took a 28-24 point lead into the change rooms at the half time break giving the crowd a good spectacle. However the Tigers dominated the third quarter 11-30 to take a 54-39 lead into the last change. The Redbacks again won the fourth quarter yet the damage was done and the Tigers ran out nine point winners 57-66. Hiddlestone again stood tall with 27 points and 15 rebounds. However her efforts weren't enough to stop Lynx pair Ashley Gilmore (19 points & 10 rebounds) and Kate Malpass (22 points, 6 assists & 4 steals).

The Lightning welcomed the ever strong Mandurah Magic to town after a disappointing 0-2 start to the SBL season. Import Natalie Young again stood out in this match with a 30 point and 9 rebound effort. The Lightning led at every change, increasing their lead to 15 by the last change. The Magic bounced back in the fourth quarter thanks to a solid team effort, while they won the period convincingly, they were unable to stop the Lightning causing the upset of the round so far.

Lastly for the ladies, the Flames went into battle with the Carpet Court Slammers at the Mike Barnett Sports Complex in Rockingham. The Flames prevailed in this see-saw contest with 3 points being the largest margin at any change. Casey Haggar and Gail Eikhoudt were the offensive weapons for the Flames with 17 and 16 points each. Kate Fielding led the Slammers with 23 points, Kate Worthington had 12 and Alex Kerr 10. The Flames will be looking at the charity stripe this week, converting just 12/30 from the line allowing the Slammers to always stay in the game. The Flames were eventual 4 point victors 69-65.

The Australian Central Eagles caused an upset over the Eastern Suns with a commanding 24 point win after the Suns had impressive games in Week 1 without their two imports. The Eagles rushed out to a 31-19 lead at the first change with a solid team effort where no player made more than two shots for the period. They then went on a scoring rampage in the second quarter led by Jarrod Balcombe who had 9 points for the quarter. With the Eagles up 33 points at the main break the damage was done for the Suns who won the second half by 9 points. The Eagles still managed a 110-86 win.

The Tigers had a surprising loss to the Slammers in Week 1 and came into Week 2 still waiting on a visa for American Robert Epps. The Redbacks new import was in Melbourne filing paperwork which saw both teams take to the court without key pieces. However the locals did the job early for the Tigers, leading 28-19 at the first break. The Redbacks took control in the second stanza and led 42-38 heading into the main break. The Redbacks stretched their lead to 10 points at the last change and looked to be in control of the match. However the Tigers came out hard in the fourth on the back of 9 points from Wesley Rule. The game ended in controversial circumstances with the Tigers at the line, 3 points down and 1.8 seconds remaining. After making the first and missing the second the game clock expired on an out of bounds call leaving the Tigers believing they still had time on the clock for one last shot. The officials discussed the situation and decided that time had expired, leaving the Redbacks with a two point win 86-84. Ryan Neill led the way for the Redbacks with 24 points whil Michael Vigor had 22 and 9 rebounds for the home side. The visitors were led by Wesley Rule with 21 points and captain Clint Read who had 18 poins and 12 rebounds.

Lakeside welcomed the improving Mandurah Magic to town and were looking to keep their 2-0 perfect record intact. The Magic were putting on a show early with a 5 point lead at the major break on the back of 11 points from Ben Caporn. Yet the ever reliable Lightning pulled the lead right back in the third period on the back of 8 points from Ryan Sofoulis. They took out the quarter 25-11 and held a 9 point lead at the last change. The Magic fought hard in the fourth quarter and Andrew Bowman had 12 points along with Tom Remmerswaals 8, however this was not enough to get over the Lightning who ran out 103-92 winners. Imports Jason Faulkner and Luke Payne led the scoring for the Lightning with 26 & 22 points each and Ryan Sofoulis had 21. Faulkner also pulled in 9 rebounds and 6 assists while Payne had 5 steals. Andrew Bowman had 25 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the way for the Magic. Ben Caporn & Kane Thompson backed him up with 15 but ultimately the Magic did not have enough offensive weapons to upset the Lightning tonight.

The Rockingham Flames took on the Carpet Court Slammers at home and made the third close game for the night. The Flames led by one at the first change and ten by the main break with 300 game veteran Travis Moore hitting 16 points. The third period saw the Slammers get the lead back to as little as 2 points, however by time the last break had come along the Flames had retained their ten point lead. The Slammers continued to fight hard in the fourth with Nat Fielding and Jason Smith combining for 14 points. The Slammers took the quarter 34-28 but not the show with the Flames celebrating captain Travis Moore's 300th game with a 112-108 win. It was Moore who led the way for the Flames with 36 points and 14 rebounds with Ryan Godfrey providing support with 15 points. The Slammers were led by Ty Alabakis and John Smith who had 18 points each with Alabakis also dishing out 7 assists. Jason Smith provided support with 15 points and 7 rebounds.
