Lady Cougars Win Double Header
Metropolis Lady Cougars returned to winning form in both games on the weekend.
Game one on Friday saw a clash with Ladder Leaders Eastern Suns. Lady Cougars came away with a 52 - 41 upset win.
On Saturday the ladies completed the weekend double header with a 72 - 43 win over the East Perth Eagles. Vanessa Michael won MVP for solid performances in both games.
Telstra Shop Success Cougars split their weekend results with a narrow 3 point loss to the Suns. A slightly undermanned Cougars trailed by as much as 20 points before the half time break. With intense focus and tenacious defence by all, the team rallied and chipped away at the deficit to just fall short of a victory.
Game 2 on Saturday saw the Cougars with an 88 â 80 win over the East Perth Eagles. Grant Davey was awarded game MVP for his tireless rebounding efforts.
Our next home game will be against the very fancied Geraldton Buccaneers on Sunday May 3rd, tip off 12.00 pm. This will be a big day of basketball at Wally Hagan Stadium with Round 1 of the junior WABL Competition starting as well.
