Week 7 SBL PowerPlayer of the Week

The State Basketball League has released the Week 7 PowerPlayer of the week awards. Each week thanks to PowerPlay Sports one Women's and one Men's SBL player is awarded the SBL PowerPlayer of the week award. The winner receives a $50 voucher for PowerPlay Sports in Subiaco.

Week Seven's WSBL winner is England International Representative Shelley Boston from the Mandurah Magic. Boston had an impressive first two games in the league with her new side, averaging 32 points & 22 rebounds per game at 56.7% from the floor.

Southside Mitsubishi Redbacks player Brooke Hiddlestone & Rockingham Flames forward Kaye Tucker were also in close consideration. Hiddlestone had 22 points and 15 rebounds at 54% in her sides loss to the Eastern Suns. Tucker finished with 23 points and 15 rebounds in her sides 22 point win over the Joondalup City Wolves.

Others in consideration for the Week 7 PowerPlayer of the week were Samantha Norwood (Eastern Suns), Natalie Young (Lightning), Ella Buckley (Cougars), Kate Malpass (Tigers), Deanna Smith (Hawks), Chantel Foord (Eastern Suns), Dannielle Devenny (Senators), Kelsey Maffin (Eagles) and Meghan D’arcy (Wanneroo Wolves).

In the Men's competition an outstanding two games from Luke Meyer of the Dominos Geraldton Buccanneers won him his third PowerPlayer of the Week award for the season. Meyer led his team to a 2-0 weekend at home against the Slammers & Giants. In game one Meyer finished with 32 points & 16 rebounds while shooting at 56%. In game two Meyer led the way again with 33 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists including 70% shooting from the field and 50% from outside the three point arc.

Southlands Boulevarde Willetton Tigers star import Robert Epps was also closely considered for the award as was Southside Mitsubishi Redbacks American Chris Lynch. Epps had 55 points, 27 rebounds and 6 assists in his sides two losses. Lynch continues to find good form with his 37 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the Redbacks overtime win against the Eastern Suns.

Others that were considered for the award were Adrian Majstravich (Eastern Suns), Ryan Godfrey (Flames), Joseph Harrell Jr (Flames), Travis Moore (Flames), Jeffrey Dowdell (Wolves), Damian Matacz (Wolves), Luke Payne (Lightning), Jason Faulkner (Lightning), Ben Caporn (Magic), Andrew Bownan (Magic), Clint Read (Tigers), John Smith (Slammers), Ryan Hulme (Giants), Michael Haney (Giants), Martin Vahala (Hawks), Tom Garlepp (Hawks), Corey Easley (Eastern Suns), Edward Morris Jr (Senators), Andrew McLennan (Eagles) & Tom Remmerswaal (Magic).
