Gun recruit stamps his mark

GUN Wanneroo Wolves recruit Alex Loughton made an instant impression at his new club as the men’s team secured a tough victory over Cockburn on Saturday night at Joondalup Basketball Stadium.

The Wolves won the Round 8 State Basketball League clash 102-95 to move to a 7-4 season record, maintaining seventh spot on the SBL ladder.

Wanneroo’s women’s team also scored an important win to improve their record to 5-4 with a 71-62 win over the Cougars. The women now sit in fifth spot on the table.

Loughton scored 28 points to be equal top scorer with Jeff Dowdell in the men’s win.

The Wildcats forward played 37 minutes for his new team, converting 10 of 16 field goals. He also grabbed eight rebounds.
