Eagles Fall Short

THE East Perth Eagles men's team were spirited but eventually fell short against Geraldton 90-84 in the State Basketball League on Saturday night.

A long bus ride that began early Saturday morning was required to face the in-form Buccaneers, who were on a four-game winning streak.

The visitors welcomed the return of Stephen Weigh from NBL leave and there was little between the teams.

The Buccaneers made the most of their scoring opportunities, particularly with Michael Le Blanc who made 12 from 15 shots attempted from inside the three-point line.

The women's SBL team had a bye.
