Renae Camino to Play First Game For Redbacks
The Southside Mitsubishi Redbacks is proud to announce that Australian Opals Team Squad member, Renae Camino, will play her first game for our women's State Basketball League team this Friday night against the Bunbury Slammers at 6.30 PM at Belmont Oasis.
For a player of just 22-years of age, Renae has already a highly impressive basketball resume. In addition to being a part of the Opals Squad she has been a former Rookie of the Year for the Women's National Basketball Association, is drafted to play in the Women's National Basketball Association and has played in the tough European competition.
Renae will be playing for the Redbacks for the rest of the season and will now be an important part of our women's teams remaining qualifying games and our finals campaign.
This game is followed by the Redbacks' men's team playing the Slammers at 8.30PM on Friday. This is an extremely important match, with the winner finding itself in the top 8 with a strong chance of participating in the end of year finals. This will also be the first opportunity to see US imports Chris Lynch and Earl Nurse at a home game for some weeks now along with our strong local players including Joel Wagner, Ryan Neill, Jarrad Prior, Michael Vigor and Reece Dempster.
The Redbacks would encourage all of its members, players and supporters to come down and support the teams in these important two games in what promises to be an exciting night of basketball action.
