Coast FM Cup is on the line
This Saturday the first of two double header meetings to decide the winner of the Coast FM Cup between the Flames and Mandurah goes on the line.
With Coast FM having an affiliation with both Rockingham and Mandurah Basketball Associations the idea was raised by RBRA Development Officer Ryan Rogers to add some extra interest into the two meetings and spice up the local derby which Coast FM jumped at and the perpetual trophy has come as a result.
Speaking on behalf of the Flames two SBL teams, mens head coach Mark Utley said "no matter where the teams are placed on the ladder these games are always interesting and with some of the Magic players previously playing here, there are definitely bragging rights on the line."
So how will the winner be crowned?
Following the return clash on Friday 3rd July at Rockingham the club that has won the majority of the games will be classed as the winner.
In the event that both clubs are tied on two wins apiece the winning club will be determined by the points for, minus the points against.
This weekends game will be played at the Mandurah Aquatic & Recreation Centre (303 Pinjarra Road, Mandurah) on Saturday evening with the women taking to the court at 6:00pm and the men facing off at 8:00pm.
