Davey dominant for Cougars

THE Cockburn Cougars won both games of their double-header on the weekend.

In a hard-fought match against the in-form Perth Redbacks on Friday night, the Cougars led by 22 points at the end of the third quarter and eventually won by 94 points to 86.

Alex Price and Bryce Burch shared the honours of top points with 16 each and Grant Davey was the game’s Most Valuable Player following his superb running of the point guard position and 10 rebounds.

On Saturday night, the Cougars came away with a nail-biting 104-102 point victory against the Kalgoorlie Giants, with Bryce Burch scoring 23 points and Grant Davey collecting his second MVP for the weekend with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

With only four games left of the regular season, the Cougars will be looking to build on their winning record to ensure home court advantage for the finals.

The Cougar’s next home game is on Saturday July 4 against the Willetton Tigers with tip-off at 6pm (women) and 8pm (men).
