Finals door slams shut on Slammers

Country cousins Mandurah Magic finally slammed the door shut on the Carpet Court Slammers State Basketball League finals aspirations with an humiliating walloping in Mandurah on Saturday night.

With former Slammer, bulky Tom Remmerswaal, Andrew Bowman and ex-Wildcat Aaron Trahair leading the way the Magic stormed to a 113-82 victory, dumping the Slammers, missing inspirational leader Aaron Edwards down to 13th place on the 14-team points ladder.

And it was sweet revenge for the Mandurah Magic women too, reversing an earlier season 20-point from the Slammers girls in March, to win by 19-points.

In something of an upset Mandurah, cementing a spot in the play-offs, walloped the Slammers 53-72 after their 61-41 loss in more than three months ago
