A Magic start to the finals

MANDURAH Magic is one up in the best of three quarter final clash over Perth Redbacks in the State Basketball League women’s competition.

Playing on their home court at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre on Friday night Magic started strongly to set up the 86-59 win.

Shelley Boston top scored for Magic with an impressive 26 points and she received strong support from Tarsha Fletcher and Katie Reed with 13 points each.

Jacinta Bourne was the top scorer for the Redbacks with 14 points.

The second game will be held at the Belmont Oasis Centre this Friday night at 7.30pm which the local team will be hoping to win to progress to the next round of finals.

Should the Redbacks level the score the third and deciding game will also be played in Belmont, on Saturday night from 7.30pm.
