The WSBL PowerPlay Coach of the Month went to Mandurah Magic mentor Brook Burns. Burns led her squad to a 4-0 record for July pushing her team from 7th place on the standings to 5th place. Burns unit claimed the scalps of the Flames, Slammers, Cougars & Wolves to round out the season and a finals showdown with the Southside Mitsubishi Redbacks.

In the Men’s competition the PowerPlayer of the Month went to Kalamunda Eastern Suns forward Adrian Majstrovich who led the Eastern Suns to a 3-1 record to finish the season and secure one of the two final playoff positions. The only team the Eastern Suns lost to was the Perry Lakes Hawks. Majstrovich averaged 38.8 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3 assists in his four outings for the Suns.

Southside Mitsubishi Redbacks star import Christopher Lynch also had three strong outings in leading his side to 8th place with a 2-1 record. The PowerPlay coach of the month for July is Dion Dagostino from the Perry Lakes Hawks. In his first year as head coach taking over from the long serving John Gardiner, Dagostino continued the Hawks playoff run. The Hawks finished the season 4-1 and secured sixth place. The Hawks were six games clear of the 7th placed team and just one short of the three way tie for 3rd-6th spots. With impressive wins over Lakeside, Kalamunda, Perth & Stirling as well as a 14 point loss on a double header to the Giants, the Hawks have performed well under Dagostino’s guidance.
