Regular Season Meetings (Including Leading Scorer For Each Team)

Round 12 - Friday 25th May Suns def Flames 64-43 (Morgan 13pts & Tucker 13pts)
Round 18 - Saturday 11th July Flames def Suns 69-63 (Tucker 20pts & Norwood 19pts)

The Lady Flames have had a fantastic season but tonight the stakes are at boiling point as they face elimination against the Kalamunda Eastern Suns. The Lady Flames ventured down to Lesmurdie last Saturday and while they led for 36 of the 40 minutes the Suns were on the right side of the scoreboard when it mattered most taking a 57-53 victory to go one up in the best of three series.

Kaye Tucker continued on with her regular season form falling narrowly short of yet another double-double while Gail Eikhoudt shot the lights out from the perimeter with five triples for the game. The area which stands in the Flames favour is Coach Petrik will go in knowing the likes of Haggar, Johnson and Teamo Wheki have more to give and a rise in their production could reverse the four point deficit from game one.

The Suns are a young side led by veteran coach Robbie Butt who has the versatile Samantha Norwood (17.3pts, 12.4rebs & 3.0asts) in the middle while the backcourt consisting of Fielding and Morgan have been consistent performers right throughout the season. In the front court Perth Lynx member Emma Lobb will look to give the Flames match-up problems while youngster Adrienne Jones provides a spark at the point.

An interesting fact is that both coaches played their starters extended minutes last week so if this series goes the distance it could become a battle of the fittest down the stretch.
