Lightning strike for third time in SBL (The West Australian)

Lakeside Lightning sealed their third SBL championship in five seasons with an 85-77 grand final win over Perry Lakes Hawks on Saturday night.

US import Luke Payne lit up the court in the first half at Perry Lakes basketball stadium, guiding Lakeside to a 28-point lead during the second quarter. However, the Hawks shut him out of the game in the third as they mounted a stunning comeback, closing the gap to three points with three minutes to play.
