Charlton steps down as Giants Head Coach
The SKILLED Goldfields Giants regret to inform that Steve Charlton has decided against continuing on as Head Coach for the 2010 SBL season. Steve’s 2009 Giants’ contract ends later this month, and he has advised the club that he will not be seeking a renewal.
Steve will be remaining in Kalgoorlie for the near future and has not ruled out an involvement with the club in some other capacity.
Giants Chairman, Graham Crew said “Steve has been an integral part of the club’s most successful on-court era over the past four years; he was most definitely the right man at the right time for the Giants. His commitment to the club has been second to none and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”
The Giants will now begin the arduous task of finding a replacement, with recruiting another coach from outside the region not out of the question.
