McInnes makes it third time lucky
He's represented the ACT more than 300 times and won countless state and club titles, but Weston Creek stalwart Terry McInnes counts the ACTSport Community Sports Star of the Year as the highlight of his career.
He shared the honour with teammate Scott Ballard after the pair won back-to-back ACT champion of champions pairs titles.
It's the third year in a row McInnes has been nominated for the award.
''We've been knocking on the door the last couple of years and you watch the [Canberra] Capitals - not that we're in the same level as them - but you go to these awards and see rugby union players, basketballers and all good sportsmen representing ACT or Australia and it's just a real good gut feeling,'' he told Biased Banter.
''It's just nice to be recognised in your own village.''
It's been a super year for Ballard, who won three of the four ACT champion of champion titles.
He represented the state in both the national champ of champs singles and pairs, and he also won the triples title.
