Coach Seminars
In addition to the above courses, CHA also delivers seminars that are generally one-two hours presentations relating to a specific aspect of coaching the sport, generally presented by high level coaches from Canterbury or the Hockey New Zealand national team programme.  Dates of seminars for 2009 will be listed on this web page as they are scheduled.

In addition to the hockey-specific coach seminars identified above, Sport Canterbury deliver a range of generic coaching seminars.  For further information about these seminars, including upcoming topics and dates, please click on the link below:

Mentoring
Attending courses and seminars can provide a coach with the knowledge to coach the sport, but it is not until that knowledge is put into practice that a coach gains an understanding of what it is they need to know and how to apply that knowledge.  For that reason coaches should have a mentor, someone who can attend the occasional practice, provide feedback, suggestions and allow for the discussion of ideas.  Any coaches wanting a mentor are asked to contact Chris Leslie, CHA CoachForce Hockey Officer.

'Hockey Ball' Newsletter
Six times a year CHA produces the 'Hockey Ball', a newsletter designed to keep coaches up to date with news, events, drills and other matters relating to coaching.  Click below for previous editions of the 'Hockey Ball'.
