GET IN THE GAME - FUNDING VOUCHERS FOR JUNIOR MEMBERS.

What funding is available?

A maximum of $1501 per voucher is available to help pay the cost of sport or recreation membership and/or participation fees. There is a limit of one voucher per child/young person per calendar year.

1 If the membership/participation fees are more than $150, you will be required to pay the difference. If the membership/participation fees are less than $150, the department will pay the club for the membership/participation fees only. The balance is not redeemable in cash or as payment for other individual items (such as jerseys, boots, etc) that would usually be paid by the individual.

When will the vouchers be available?

Opening, closing and expiry dates for the first two rounds are detailed below.

Round 1

Applications open 15 January 2013
Applications close 15 April 2013
Vouchers expire 15 May 2013

Round 2

Applications open 15 July 2013
Applications close 15 October 2013
Vouchers expire 15 November 2013

How do I get a voucher?

You will be able to apply for a voucher under the first round of the program from 15 January 2013.

If a child is eligible for Get Started, they are not guaranteed a voucher. The funding will be distributed in two rounds each year on a first come, first serve basis. Once the allocation for each round is exhausted, the program will close and no further vouchers will be offered for that round.

Where can I redeem the voucher?

A list of registered sport and recreation clubs can be viewed on the club locator ( http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.au/funding/getinthegame/clubs/index.php ).

You are encouraged to discuss membership/participation with the club you are interested in joining to find out any additional costs, times for training/playing and other club membership requirements. You will still be required to complete and comply with the sport or recreation club’s membership/participation process. Receiving a voucher does not ensure that membership to a specific club will be accepted by that club.

Comment Guidelines: The SportingPulse Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
