Big V is back and here are the dates for training.....

After six weeks of no basketball the boys turned up for game #1 of the Eltham Tournament a little unprepared. The boys had obviously enjoyed the break from basketball and their lack of practice showed against Diamond Valley 1.

Magic Players and Coaches have been selected to represent Vic Metro at the Southern Cross challenge to be held in Ballarat in January 2012.

3 Magic Coaches 2 players ventured up the highway and into enemy territory to pull on the Big V..........

Magic has their second boys team at under 12s qualify for VC. This is the first time the boys program has had a a 2nd team qualify for VC.

Congratulations to the following teams who have earnt the right to play in the Grand Final of their respective VJBL competitions.

A big congratulations goes to the players, parents and coaches of the following listed teams for achieving the honour of representing the Magic at the highest possible level of competition within Victoria. With many of these teams featuring heavy loads of bottom age players it will be expecting to watch the development of the squads and reward next season.

It was with great sadness that we learned last thursday night of the very tragic passing of Paul Simpson..

On the weekend it was my turn to do drop offs for Magic training for my son & daughter. This meant that I not only had the pleasure of listening to children talking about basketball in the car but I also had the chance to watch a number of our coaches in action.

The Hawthorn Magic State Youth Championship Women's team is looking for an assistant coach and a team manager for this season.

A group of Hawthorn Magic under 16s boys were on hand to cheer on coach Darryl McDonald (aka D-Mac), as he began his side job as Head Coach of the National Basketball League’s Melbourne Tigers last Sunday evening (February 6).
