IF you ever venture down to Fox Road Narre Warren for the football its worth hanging around to have a jar or two with 2006/07 Magpie premiership hero and former assistant coach Steven Kidd. ‘Skiddsy’ is a Magpie through and through having come up from the under nines and is still playing his heart out for the black and white jumper after taking last year off to support his wife Lisa in her successful battle back from ill health. A better bloke in footy you will not find.
Name: Steven Kidd
Club: Narre Warren
Best player seen: I’d say Micky Collins and the
Hardest opponent: Danny Casset (Doveton).
Biggest influence on career: I have to say Dad (Andy). He still thinks I would have been good in the AFL!
All time favourite sporting moment: Easy-the two flags with Narre.
My weakness is: I’m a bit emotional and I suppose I’m a bit too nice!
Most annoying team mate: Definitely ‘Hammo’ (Glenn Hamilton). He thinks I’m the ugliest player at Narre Warren but obviously there aren’t any mirrors at his place…
