Jake Greeley

JAKE  GREELEY Chelsea FC.. Although having made the jump from Chelsea Under 16’s last year to Senior Football in just six months looks relatively smooth the transition of Jake Greeley was built on an exceptional summer of hard work.

Greely attached pre-season with the Seagulls with the dedication of a seasoned veteran.  He was a clear statement to the group which featured a good number of former VFL experienced and others who have tasted Premiership success in the Blue and White Hoops, which indicated he was keen to reach similar heights in his football career.

Despite his size and stature, Greeley uses a combination of pace, endurance guile and kicking to impact games.  A three goal performance against Langwarrin in Round 5 was his best Senior game to date, where the wide open spaces of Lloyd Park suited his game perfectly.

Already a key part of coach Steve Harrison’s midfield rotation, Greeley has set his sights on a successful year personally with the team to help the Seagulls make their first Premiership since their 2006 title.

Such a season should open the door for Greeley to have another tilt at TAC Cup in 2010, having trained with the Dandenong Stingrays Under 16’s last year.

On current form, this young excitement machine playing in number 22 is on his way to another leap forward in his playing career.
