IT took a while to get there but Saturday saw Paul ‘Skins’ Freestone chalk up his 200th senior game for Devon Meadows. The big-marking forward has played with the Panthers since transferring from Cranbourne in 1996 and has a best and fairest award in 2001 and two runners up trophies in 1997 and 1998 to his name. He was also a member of the 1997 grand final side that went down to Rosebud.
Name: Paul Freestone
Club: Devon Meadows
Best player seen: Matty Joseph by a long way.
Hardest opponent: Brad Downe from Doveton.
Biggest influence on career: My first senior coach at Cranbourne, John Van Oirshot.
All time favourite sporting moment: Definitely Geelong’s magnificent 2007 premiership victory.
My weakness is: McDonalds!
Most annoying team mate: Ryan Murphy because he paints his toenails pink and is always having professional pedicures. There’s something very different about him…
