Club Focus: To bring netball to every woman, young and old, experienced and inexperienced, in the Wellington community - as well as being focused on attracting and retaining Wellington's finest netball talent. We have a focus on teams selected through the trialling process, and provide a supportive and friendly environment. In regards to social activities, in 2008 we announced an exciting new partnership with Hope Bros (http://www.hopebros.co.nz/). Weekly club drinks are held at Hope Bros on Saturday nights throughout the season, with great deals for 'smoggies'. Club drinks are a great way to socialise with your team and get to know others in the club. Coaching: SMOG is focused on providing top quality coaches for all teams. Players are encouraged to coach a team if they wish, with the added incentive that player-coaches do not have to pay subs. Coaches are encouraged to attend courses to improve their skills and gain further qualifications, and these courses are paid for by the club. The club has a Coaching Coordinator, who can provide support throughout the season. Subs: (2008) $145.00 Uniforms: In 2008 the club announced a move to a new uniform. We have kept the same popular SMOG blue colour and a skirt and top, but have updated the design. Uniforms cost $80 (new), and second hand uniforms are also available. Training: Trainings are held at St Mary's College or Wellington East Girls College (both have indoor facilities). 2009 Trials: All trials for SMOG are held at Hataitai Netball Courts on Court 1. This year we will be entering 2 teams in Prem 1, 1 team in Prem 2, 4 teams across the Prem Reserve grades and 6 teams within the Senior Grades. The dates for trials are: Premier Grade (SMOG 1-3) Tuesday 17 February at 6pm-9pm Thursday 19 February at 6pm-9pm Saturday 21 February at 9am-12noon Premier Reserve Grade (SMOG 4-7) Tuesday 24 February at 6pm-9pm Thursday 26 February at 6pm-9pm Saturday 28 February at 9am-12noon Senior Grade (SMOG 8-13) Tuesday 3 March at 6pm-9pm Thursday 5 March at 6pm-9pm Saturday 7 March at 9am-12noon
