This season the Centre was represented in 2009 by 2 teams at the Under 17 level and 2 at the U15 level. These teams produced good results during the season, with a particularly outstanding performance by our Under 17 Black team who placed second in the first Netball New Zealand U17 Age Group Championships. This competition was very strong and the NNZ cross pool draw was tough among all teams competing. Unfortunately it was not kind to our U17 Gold team where they had 4 decisive wins from 6 (averaging 20 goal gaps with the wins) however placed 17th.
The performance of both of the Under 15 teams unfortunately doesn’t reflect the talent we have in these groups. The future looks bright as these players move through the age groups to join with our experienced U17 players, and the talent coming from our Junior Satellites. We are looking forward to another exciting year of Representative Netball in 2010.
