Netball is New Zealand’s leading female sport at both the community and international level. The sport has grown significantly over the past 10 years and has undertaken some exciting change. Netball in NZ has 5 Zones with each of the
Zones having responsibility for overseeing and assisting with player, coach and umpire development.

This opportunity is for the Performance Manager of Netball Central Zone, and is a permanent full time position reporting to the CEO.  This role is part of a small internal team and a wider team within the netball centres of the zone.

The first six months of this role will involve planning and collaboration with the netball centres within the zone and Netball New Zealand on developing the programmes to meet the needs of the centres, zone and Netball New Zealand in the area of player, coach and umpire development. Following this planning and development phase it is anticipated the role will then involve the ongoing implementation of these programmes.


The main responsibilities of the role are:
* Central Beko programme – development of the programme to ensure opportunities for players within the zone are optimized, working closely with the coach and management team of the Beko team to meet agreed performance
goals.
* Talent development – work with centres and identify talent for the Zone Development Squad, assist Netball New Zealand to identify emerging players and implement the Talent ID programme.
* Player development – organization and delivery of player development programmes, coaching and management for zone development squad and assistance to the centres with under 15, under 17 and under 19 player
development.
* Competitions – ensure adequate and appropriate competitions are available to players in centre representative teams and these competitions attract teams from both within and outside of the zone to attend.

The key skills and experience you will need are:
* Experience in working within high performance and/or talent development sport
* Experience and/or in-depth knowledge of netball
* Understanding of a competition structure
* Proven conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking skills
* Strong relationship management and influencing skills
* Planning and organizing skills
* Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills
* Budget management
