ACT LONG TRACK CHALLENGE 2013

CANBERRA MCC INVITATION

Canberra are having their kick off meeting for the year on 23rd - 24th  February

It was known to all as the Kings and Queens event but has undergone a name change now being ACT Long Track Challenge.

Canberra MCC has made an invitation to Penrith club which I have accepted which makes things a little easier for us to ride in it.

These guys support us where they can so let's get our year off to a two-day start and get a few of us down there to wave the Penrith flag

I will be getting there Friday night and camping Friday - Saturday night (which was a great success last year) for some early season bonding and drinks around the fire etc.

There is prize money on some classes for this event as you will see and they have been able to get someone for the canteen for that weekend.

Like all of our meetings now, it is pre-entry only so best to get them in sooner than later'

Competitors must pre enter via: www.nominate.com.au or Post.

Entry forms available on the Club’s website www.actmcc.com.au

….. or in some cases like who is going etc. to myself. (Roy 0418461189)

Re the Sydney Dirt tTrack series, entry forms will be sent out soon and there will be provision to enter for the 3 rounds upfront for those die hards who know they will want to ride all 3 rounds and get there spots secured on the grid.

One thing not mentioned was that all heats and finals will be 3.5 laps

So far i have had a great response to the new format with one member boasting that with 2 bikes he can get 8 rides!

But, of course, change doesn’t always suit everyone and I have 2 classes which have been combined at present due to previous low numbers being the pre 75 125 and pre 70 class which is now combined and has affected a couple of members. So if there are enough guys/girls out there who wish to ride these classes I need to hear from at least 6 of you from each discipline before I can really change anything.

More good news is that some fall out from the Troy Bayliss classic may come our way with some high profile names asking for our dates with a possibility of coming along!

GENERAL MEETING Tuesday 14th May 2013
Just a quick reminder that next Tuesday is our next general meeting at Eastern Creek Tavern starting at 7pm.
Those that have not paid their pre entry for the 16th June or the Training Day on the 15th June may like to use this opportunity to do so and  maybe have a coffee/beer or even dinner whilst having a chat about club things.

TRAINING DAY 15th June 2013
Mick Kirkness and I have what we believe is quite an informative and helpful day instore after which riders may be able to test what they have learnt in a race application on the following day, at Round 2 of the Sydney Dirt Track Series on the 16th of June, whilst things are still fresh in there minds. The cost for this is $65 per senior.

LIST OF RIDERS as at 17th April
A list of riders up to this point in time is available by clicking on the "2013 Dirt Track Series" link on the main menu or just click here

You will notice that 2 classes, the Pro 450 and Pro Unlimited are over subscribed already and there are still people not on this list who are eager to enter that is why we have had to impose the pre paid entry scenario to decide who gets the spots.

The Masters class has its full compliment of 30 riders at present so I would suggest that anyone on that list that has not paid, it would be best to do so asap to reserve your spot or it may be offered to one of the reserves, this also goes for the Pro 450 and Pro unlimited classes

PHOTOS FOR FREE!
Many thanks to our resident and ever so friendly photographer Mark Staudinger who spends countless hours taking such great shots then compiling them for our viewing pleasure. Examples of his work and talent are prominently displayed on our Website and Facebook Page.

I am compiling a list of people who participated at the 1st Round of the 2013 Sydney Dirt Track series and may like to have photos of themselves emailed to them.

All I want from you is an email to cpmcc1@hotmail.com stating your name and bike number for that event and once we build up a group they will be emailed out to you FREE of charge!
