Change to Kick-Off time for A-League match in Bathurst

MEDIA RELEASE                                                     18 January 2012

Help make history when the A-League arrives in Bathurst

In just one week’s time, on Wednesday, January 25 all the excitement of the Hyundai A-League will arrive in the Central West when Adelaide United and the Newcastle Jets fight for three precious competition points at Carrington Park in Bathurst.

Both teams are currently locked in a battle to secure a place in the top six, separated by only one point on the competition table, and the result of the fixture could prove crucial in the race for a place in the finals.

The match will be the first official fixture ever played in regional New South Wales, west of the mountains, and a rare opportunity for residents in this region to see two professional football teams do battle in their own back yard.

Bathurst won the right to host the game as part of a community initiative from the Football Federation Australia that will see five of this season’s A-League fixtures taken to new venues in Australia and New Zealand.

The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sport, showcasing not only all the action on the field, but also the Bathurst Region to viewers across the country.

Kick off in the Round 16 contest has been rescheduled from 7:30pm to 8pm, making it even easier for football fans across the Central West to make their way to Bathurst for this historic clash on the eve of Australia Day.

Tickets for the fixture are selling fast, and only a limited number of reserved seating remains in the Grand Stand at Carrington Park. Fans are urged to pre-purchase their seats prior to game day, to secure their place at this must-see event.

Tickets are on sale through the Box Office at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre. They can be purchased in person at 105 William Street, Bathurst, over the phone (6333 6161), or online via the What’s On page of the BMEC website – www.bmec.com.au.
