Parkes Juniors to Represent Lachlan United at the Country Cup

Lachlan United will be represented at 2012 Country Cup this year with the Under 13 Boys finishing top of their age group with a superior goal difference over arch rivals Dubbo at the qualifying cut off date of Sunday 27 May.

The boys will be heading to Griffith on the June long weekend to participate in the Country Cup against the winners of the Riverina and Southern areas before heading back to participate in their last round of the Western Youth League in Cowra on Sunday 17 June where they will be aiming to win both of their last 2 matches to be crowned Western area champions.

Coach, Chris McDean, has praised the effort of all the boys in the squad after what has been a big 7 months for them all when they started pre season training back November last year and moved into full training towards the end of February in preparation for the Western Youth League competition.

Over the first 3 rounds of the competition that team has won 5 games and only loosing 1 game to Dubbo in their most recent round.

Their results this season have been as follows:
5-1 win againstOrange
9-1 win against Mudgee
2-1 win against Dubbo
10-0 win against Lachlan Lions
7-0 win against Lachlan Lions
4-3 loss against Dubbo

In other age groups the Under 12 Girls and Under 15 Boys have completed their seasons with both teams finishing 3rd with the Under 10, 11 and 13 Boys and Under 14 and 16 Girls still having a few rounds to go before their season is over, with the Under 16 Girls currently sitting equal 1st but missing out on qualifying for the Country Cup on goal difference.

We wish the Under 13 Boys all the best at the Country Cup coming up on the June Long Weekend.
