2013 President's Report

Parkes & District Amateur Soccer Association Inc.
Presidents Reports 2013

Welcome and thank you for your attendance tonight.

We come to the end of yet another season with good playing numbers of a Saturday and 11 All Age teams playing out of Parkes on a Sunday in the Lachlan competition, which is a great achievement for a town of our size.

To my Executive members, thank you for all the hours you have put in throughout the season despite some criticism that was placed upon us in the early weeks of the season, but at the end of the day we know as a group that we made the correct decisions. A big thank you must go to Vanessa Edwards who took on the Canteen Managers position for the first time this season, from all reports that I have heard from around the grounds everyone enjoyed the new variety of foods available.

To all the coaches and managers of our junior teams and Youth League teams thank you for your support and congratulations on a job well done.

2013 saw the Parkes Cup being run again which was open to all the All Age men’s teams from Parkes, 5 of the 11 teams took part in this competition with the eventual winners being Tichborne Tigers who defeated Rawson Home Raptors in the final 6-0.

Congratulations to all our Grand Final winners in Parkes for 2013 and also congratulations to Rawson Home Raptors (1st Div), Rovers (3rd Div) and Ray White Raptors (4th Div) for taking out their respective Lachlan All Age Grand Finals.

Thanks to Les Bevan and the Parkes referees branch for supplying referees each week to officiate in our local competition matches, without you a lot of theses games wouldn’t be able to go ahead.

In closing season 2013 I wish the in coming Executive all the best for the upcoming season and for those who are not seeking re-election I thank you for all the time you have put into the sport of soccer in Parkes during your time on the Executive. It is however with sadness that I announce that I will not be seeking re-election for the 2014 season as myself Tiff and Huxley will be moving to the CentralCoast for a lifestyle and career change. I have already been lucky enough to secure a coaching position with Wyoming Tigers who play in the Central Coast Football League which is the top competition for seniors on the Central Coast and we feel that the time is also right for us now to begin a new chapter in our lives as a young family, but I leave having confidence that the new executive will continue to see soccer grow in Parkes in the years to come.

I do however wish to continue to support the Parkes association and wish to still continue on as being the website administrator for the association should they be happy for me to continue in this role.
