Finally after nearly two years of work and deliberation between Parkes and District Amateur Soccer Association and the Parkes Sports Council the ground six lighting upgrade is going ahead.

A company by the name of Lighting Australia will be in Parkes from today, Thursday 18^th June 2015, to start the long awaited installation of the new lighting system. The new system will be installed with the latest sporting facility lights which will be ran on an automated SMS system. Thus making the lighting facilities at Harrison Park the best in the region.

Due to these upgrades I do regret to inform all that from the commencement date until the project is complete the grounds will be closed for training purposes. They will still be open for match days but just not training.

Once the upgrade is completed not only will it improve our lighting on the grounds but will endeavour to save money in the future due to lower running costs. This also means that there is the opportunity for all clubs to play night games under the new lights.

I would like to take this opportunity to also thank The Honourable Member Mr Troy Grant, Member for Dubbo, for his assistance in help with funding, Parkes Shire Council for their assistance with funding and Parkes Sports Council for their assistance and dealings with Parkes Soccer throughout the duration of the project. I would also like to thank all the past and present committee members from Parkes Soccer for their support in this long endeavour.
