Kyabram Bowls Club Results Saturday 17th November.
Ky Division One inflict the first loss for Seymour.
Playing on their home greens Ky defeated the previously undefeated top team Seymour winning one rink losing one and drawing two for an overall win 10/4 by 16 shots 99-83.The winning rink was skippered by David Cartwright with Steve Doherty leading followed by Graeme King and Darren Boswood having a brilliant 21 shots win 36-15 only losing 8 ends for the day with the result never in doubt after the first 7 ends when they were up 9 shots to 8 then winning 10 of the next 11 ends to lead 30-10 they then cruised over the final ends to win comfortably. Russell Locke with Kelvin Hubble Mick Bradshaw and Paul McInnes drew their game 20 shots to 20 by picking up a 7 on the second last end and then a 1 on the last end. Greg Shilling with Rob Sceney Jim Oliver and Chris Preddy also drew their game 23-23 after being 17-12 after 13 ends then down 19-22 after 22 ends then winning the last 2 ends got then a draw. Peter O’Brien Peter Lomas Phil Denham and Rob George lost their game by just 5 shots after a rough start 10 shots down after 6 ends then out scored their opponents 19 shots to 14 to lose 20-25 but contributed to the overall win.
Division 2 played Shepparton Golf away and could only win the one rink losing overall by 22 shots 78-100. The winning rink was Ray Harrison’s with Mitch Steven leading followed by Les Grills and Tommy Polglaze winning against Wayne Gribble 23-16, they were never headed after a good start leading 7-1 after the first 4 ends. Noel Reddrop and his team of Herbie Prior Gino Scapin and Bob Canute lost their first game for a while losing by just 5 shots in a tight game with scores close all game they got within 1 shot on the 21st and 23rd ends but dropped a 5 on the 24th end which didn’t help. Rob Anset with Maurie Hateley Garry Hawking and Peter Kendall also lost by 5 shots after a good start leading 7-1 after 4 ends lost 6 of the next 7 ends to be down 8-15 they then got within 3 shots after 18 ends but couldn’t finish off the game to lose 22-27. Cyril Napier Ken Risstrom John Hausler and Joe Greco had the tough game going down by 19 shots after a terrible start being down 1 shot to 18 after 9 ends, they were competitive after that but the damage was done.
Division 3 played at Shepparton Park and had a terrific 15 shots win ,winning 3 rinks. The best winning rink was Bert Saunders with Ronnie Anderson Helen Chapman and Marilyn Anset winning by 15 shots,their game was close up until the 11th end when scores were level at 6-6 they then won 10 of the next 12 ends to power away 27-10 finishing up winning 29-14 a great win. John Hatzie with the other Ronnie- Mansfield Bill Hatzie and Ted Hazelman won their game by 9 shots also in a close game they were down 7-9 after 10 ends they won 10 of the next 13 ends to lead 25-12 to run out winning 25-16. Don Cook and his team kept their winning streak going winning by 6 shots,Leo Comer Alan Dunkling and Brian Lindsay all contributing to a 26-20 win. Peter Butchers team Kevin Twigg Howard Tonkin and Barry Evans were close at afternoon tea down 7-11 but then got into some trouble losing the next 6 ends to lose 11-26 but they helped the overall score, 91 shots to 76 and a 12/2 win.
