Mens Saturday Pennant Result December 8th
Kyabram Bowls Club Results Saturday 8th December.
Ky Division One win over close rivals Stanhope winning 3 rinks losing 1 with the overall score 103-81 a 22 shot win. The best winning rink was Russell Locke’s with Kelvin Hubble leading Mick Bradshaw second and Paul McInnes third having a 18 shot win over Ron Luker only allowing then to score on 8 ends winning 30-12. David Cartwright with Steve Doherty, Graeme King and Darren Boswood won their game against Barry Williams in a close game up until afternoon tea when scores were 10-11 they then lost 2 ends to be down 10-18 they then won 8 of the next 10 ends to win 28-22. Peter O’Brien, Peter Lomas, Phil Denham and Rob George had a battle with Jeff Armstrong winning by 2 shots 26-24 with scores being close all game. Greg Shilling’s rink lost to Shane Walsh 19-23 after being a few shots down most of the game. Overall a 12/2 result keeps them in third position.
Division 2 played Nagambie at home and disappointingly lost overall by 1 shot 93-94 after being in front on the overall scoreboard all day and at the start of the last end they were 12 shots up but unfortunately dropped 13 shots over all the last end. Ray Harrison with Mitch Steven, Don Cook and Jim Oliver had a good win by 19 shots after being down after 5 ends 3-7 then winning 12 of the next 14 ends to be up 28-9 the last few ends were shared to go on and win 33-14. Noel Reddrop with Joe Greco, Gino Scapin and Bob Canute lost by just 4 shots in a close game throughout. Cyril Napier Herb Prior, John Hausler and John Elliott lost their game by 5 shots also in a close game they were in front 23-21 with 2 ends to play but lost those ends to lose 23-28. Rob Anset, Maurie Hateley, Don Treloar and Peter Kendall lost their game by 11 shots in another close game up until the last few ends.
Division 3 played top team Shepparton RSL and also had a heartbreaking 1 shot loss 83-84 winning 2 rinks and losing 2. The winning rinks were Ted Hazelman with Peter Fry leading followed by Ken Risstrom and John Hatzie winning by 11 shots after a great start 10-0 after 4 ends then never being headed to win 25-14. Brian Lindsay, Leo Comer, Dom D’Augello and Alan Dunkling had a good 9 shot win also after a good start leading 11-1 after 5 ends then leading 28-13 after 20 ends but dropped 4 of the last 5 ends to run out winning 30-21. Peter Butcher, Kevin Twigg, Howard Tonkin and Barry Evans lost their game by 6 shots after being in front up until the 17th end when they were in front 16-13 but then lost the next 6 ends to be down 16-23 to finally go down 18-24. Bert Saunders and his team Russ Jones, Helen Chapman and Marilyn Anset was level after 7 ends 5-5 then 10-10 after 15 ends but then the wheels fell the machine losing the last 10 ends.
