2012 London Paralympic Games

The country’s Paralympics representatives to the 2012 Olympic Games are confident of a good outing.
Iliesa Delana and Lusiana Rogoimuri will be flying the Fiji flag high when the Games commences in the United Kingdom in a few weeks time.
Senior sports project officer of the Fiji Paralympics Committee Saimone Nainoca during a cheque presentation at the ANZ House in Suva yesterday said he could feel that the two athletes can bring something home and try to put Fiji on the map when the games ends next month.
The two athletes will compete in the high jump, 100 metres and 200m events respectively.
The ANZ Bank presented a $5000 cheque to the duo yesterday to assist in their preparations. The bank’s acting chief executive Rakesh Ram, in presenting the cheque, said ANZ was proud to be part of that inclusiveness.
“We couldn’t be any more proud of our two paralympians who will hold high the Fiji flag, Iliesa Delana and Lusiana Rogoimuri,”  Ram said.
Ram said Delana and Rogoimuri, and other athletes in the game would help send  an important message around the world about how the Games inspire people to achieve their potential, and in many cases, to overcome adversity.
