2012 CHRISTMAS PARTY
Today was the last day of bowls for the ladies at Ettalong, a day that I am sure will live in the memory of all who attended for some time to come. The auditorium was nicely decorated and the ladies decorated their tables, leaving little room for the place settings. Not only did they decorate their tables, they decorated themselves. We had Santa, two Merry Christmases, Elves, and an assortment of the weird and the wonderful. After a delicious lunch, President Kris spoke and wished all present a very happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year. President Robert Henderson also wished everybody present and their families a Merry Christmas and commented how good it was to see the ladies in the red white and blue, uniting the Club colours. After lunch it was full on dancing (glad the dancing with the stars judges were not present, they would have been horrified.) The nut bush city limits and the Macarena took a pounding. We were also treated to some rather unconventional ballet (Dame Margot would have been mortified). President Kris valiantly tried to save the official table when the girls decided to use it as a ballet practice bar. The entertainer Shane Edwards was the best ever, his repertoire of songs covered all tastes. The day finished singing Christmas carols and Auld Lang Syne. A great day was had by all.
President Kristine and her Committee would like to wish one and all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
