Faye Breslin was graded to NSWRLRA and joins Adam Cassidy as Cronulla Sutherland Referees other active Referee in the NSWRLRA. Faye will be available to referee in all NSWRLRA appointed matches which include Ron Massey Cup and NSW Cup matches.

The Leagues Club is the venue and we have 18 new candidates about to start their face to face and online module training.
NRAS coaches Doug Wintin and Paul Macinante are co ordinating the courses with expected input this year from the reformed NRLD training organisation.
With 2013 season beginning to take shape and with the first round only about 8 weeks away i am looking from all the juniors to provide me with their intentions to ref in the upcoming season. I will be continuing the role of Junior coordinator but due to work commitments Matt Tracey will not be returning.
A good attendance of both regular Referees and partners and Senior Referees attended the Annual Xmas barefoot bowls day and BBQ held at Sylvania Bowling Club.

Cronulla referees Executive Officer Russell Stevens will be interviewed on 2SSR-FM on Sunday 2nd December 2012 at 7 pm.
Executive Producer Stuart Redmond of the "Orange Peelers" revealed that the show aims to provoke discussion amoungst a bunch of guys who love to talk about sport and have fun doing it.
Every year about December (funny it happens this time every year) The Cronulla Referees with the assistance of the staff from "The Friendly Club" Sylvania Bowling club organises a barefoot bowls day and BBQ. All Referees,their families and their mates, boys and girls are invited to attend this function.
Starts 12 noon with barefoot bowls the highlight and then follows the BBQ
As you are all aware we have the Bunnings BBQ this Saturday from 7 am -5pm.
We need as many bodies down there so that we can fulfill our duties.
I have broken the day into 3 Shifts, these are from 7.30am - 11am, 11am -
2.30 and 2.30 unit 5pm. I would like to have at least 4 people there per
shift
So far the morning is covered, i will be there all day.
I have Matt (Appo) Maclean, Cameron Paddy, Andrew Mcrae and Mitch Currie
in the morning (7.30-11) i would like one or to more there for this time.

At our August General Meeting Referees appointed to 2012 Grand Finals were presented with their Grand Final embroided Jumpers by Director of Referees Development Jared Maxwell.
Doug Keen NSWRLRA has appointed Todd to one of the Semi Finals of the Coca Cola Cup Under 13 games at Leichhardt Oval on Wednesday night at 6.00pm. Todd will referee one of the semi finals and run the line for the other. Another good appointment for our developing referees.
Brisbane Referees Dave Newman and Ryan Hayes completed the exchange program between Cronulla Suthernad DRFL Referees Association and Brisbane Referees when they were appointed to a number of matches on the weekend of 14th and 15th July.
Cronulla Referees James Gill and Cameron Paddy co hosted the visitors anf all members thank them for their efforts over the weekend.

A good attendance at training by our newer referees greeted our Referees Development Director Jared Maxwell who with the assistance of our senior referees put all referees through a solid skills and physical training session at Sutherland oval on Wednesday night.
To note all Training is held at Sutherland Oval commencing at 7.00 pm be there @6.45pm and don't forget to sign on the training attendance sheet.

Thursday 15 March 2012, Nathan Waugh, Jared Maxwell, Andrew McCrae and Michael Kendall all met with a journalist and photographer from The Leader to do a piece on the new relationship and sponsorship of the Cronulla referees by Vision PT Caringbah, Sylvania, Bangor and Gymea.
We got hold of the very first of the new jerseys for Sam Barnett the manager of Vision Caringbah to present to Jared Maxwell.
You should see the article in next Thursdays leader, the 22nd March.
We look forward to heading into season 2012 with a Vision in our minds and also now, on our jerseys!
As of next week we will be training twice a week. Now don’t get scared only one session is compulsory the other is optional but advisable.
Next Monday will be the start of our (optional) recovery sessions that are run with the help of Vision Personal Training. On this coming Monday however we will not be training with Vision, as I would like to conduct fitness testing.
Training will be on at Sutherland Oval (cricket field near cemetery) at 6.30PM. I urge as many members as possible to attend. The session will involve only 2 x tests.
We held our First Training Session at Vision Caringbah Monday 5th March 2012.
The Vision Trainers put the Referees that attended through a tuff 30 minute full body circuit, this included cardio and weight training. After which the trainers worked the boys through a field Session ( Run ).

This years Referees Coaching course will commence on the 16th February at the Cronulla Sutherland Leagues starting at 7.45pm in the Acqua South Room.
The course will run for 4 weeks with the exams commencing on 15th March 2012.
The course providers are Doug Wintin and Paul Macinante.
Successful Referees are encourage to join the Association and commence their Refereeing career at the start of the season starting on the 24th March 2012. Information packs and details concerning uniforms, whistles etc will be explained at the meeting.
Referees meetings are held on a Wednesday once a month at Sylvania Bowling Club and every other Wednesday training nights are conducted at Sutherland Oval where NRL referees are in attendance to assist with training.
All referees will have assigned a mentor to follow their refereeing on Saturdays to gain experience from senior referees.

The Code : A Defender cannot shoulder charge a ball Carrier to Tackle
Application: A defender who RUNS at a ball carrier and WITHOUT ATTEMPTING TO TACKLE, GRAB OR HOLD THE BALL CARRIER charges him with the shoulder or with the upper arm (TUCKED INTO HIS SIDE) is Guilty of an infringement.
Senior Referees, Director of Referees Development, Co Directors and Coaching panel discussed this topic at training on Wednesday and ALL REFEREES are advised to continue with the present procedure that has been followed since the start of the season.
If the Injured player does not interfere with play, the play will continue.
If an accredited trainer, after assessing the nature of the injury, deems a stoppage of play is necessary they will bring this to the attention of the Referee. A stoppage of play will then occur.
Expressions of Interest are called for participation in a CMO Level 2 Course to be conducted at Nepean Shores, Penrith in November, 2011.
Two dates are available to the NSWRLRA at present but a booking must be made almost immediately.
The dates under consideration are the 5th, 6th and 7th November and the 18th, 19th and 20th November.
As soon as a booking for ONE of these week-ends is confirmed candidates will be advised immediately and , if wishing to proceed, I will ask candidates to complete an application through their Association.

This is not a new subject but it never seems to go away. Junior League is desperately trying to reign in trainers who continue to ignore both JL guidelines in relation to their role and the Laws of the Game and we have a role to play.
