FFA Officials Log Book

FFA Log Book

Football Federation Australia (FFA) is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission as Football’s National Sporting Organisation. The training programs for referees, assessors and instructors developed by FFA are the only recognised development programs for match officials.

To achieve FFA re-accreditation a range of activities must be undertaken by officials during the currency of their FFA accreditation licence. These will assist officials to keep up to date with such elements as the latest laws, interpretations, officiating techniques, strategies, policies, risk management, legal responsibilities and expectations. This continuous education also provides developmental pathways and programs for all officials and is essential for the well-being and development of Football.

Accreditation is valid for up to four years. For example accreditation dated 17 February 2011 will expire on 31 December 2014.

To renew accreditation applicants have to upgrade their qualifications or provide evidence that they have undertaken required activities as well as being active during at least 2 of the 4 years of their accreditation.

There are two methods to achieve reaccreditation:

1. Upgrading accreditation to the next level; or

2. Undertake the required activities over the four year period to renew accreditation at the same level.

The FFA log book is an essential tool in the re-accreditation process. Officials should record and date a summary of relevant and acceptable activities drawn from both of the above groupings. It is recommended that activities are recorded as they occur, or are recorded in summary form at frequent intervals.

The log book may also provide evidence of experience gained should an application for recognition of prior learning towards a new accreditation be submitted.

If attending an approved updating activity fill in the appropriate details and obtain the signature of the coordinator and/or an official stamp of the organising body.

The Log Book is in hard copy at the back of your Laws of the Game book.   Or you can -
