STRZELECKI 60+PAIRS FINAL
The South Gippsland Ladies, Joy Brown & Robyn Dennis were trailing the West Gippsland pair of Denise Hamilton & Maureen Leighton for the whole game and were 4 shots down on the 14th end with one to play. South Gippsland produced the goods and were holding 5 shots with Denise and Robyn to play their last two bowls. Denise unfortuntely missed going into the head with her two bowls and South Gippsland ran out winners 14-13.
The South Gippsland men, Rod Beech & Roy Smith lost the first 4 ends against the West Gippsland pair in Ian Kirkup & Ian Hilsley. They collected a six on the 5th end and from then on handled the conditions much better and after 15 ends were 14-10 on the card. The two Ians were not disgraced and like true sportsmen acknowledged the fact that they were beaten by a better team on the day.
The winners will now travel to Warnambool to play in the State Final on the 12th & 13th of December 2012.
