Zone Clubs

The Victorian Champions League (VCL) is contested by 13 representative zones, covering the entire state of Victoria.  It runs between October and March each summer and selected participants from ages 12 to 'Open' compete.

Each winter club which is registered with FFV falls within the geographic boundary of one of the 13 zones.  Players must be registered with a winter club to be eligible to trial, and if successful, represent the geographical zone in which their club falls.

Zone Working Committees:

Each zone is a registered company, and its directors appoint a 'zone working committee' on an annual basis to perform the day-to-day operations of the zone club.  Applications have been submitted and each zone now has a working committee formally installed.

Zones & Affiliated Winter Clubs:

Each zone is formally named after the region it represents, but also has a 'nickname'.  Click on the zone names below for a full listing of the winter clubs which are affiliated with that zone.

An alphabetical listing of all FFV affiliated winter clubs and their associated Victorian Champions League Zone can be found by clicking here.

Participants in Clubs which are based in the Monash municipality should note that they are no longer eligible to represent the South East Cougars, and are now eligible for the Eastern zone.  This is the result of a small zone re-structure to improve the participant ratio across the zones.  More information coming soon.

Zone Trial Dates/Locations:

Football Federation Victoria encourages junior players to trial for the forthcoming VCL season. Each respective zone will hold trials for respective age groups. Interested players are urged to contact their respective zone prior to attending a trial session. Trials for all positions for the forthcoming 2011/12 VCL have now been completed.

Zone Brands & Websites:

The 2009/10 season saw all zones undergo extensive re branding, which has seen them play under these new nicknames and in some instances new team colours.  FFV worked with design partner, MMR Design, to establish a series of logos to represent each of the Zones which can be viewed at the bottom of the FFV homepage during the summer months and VCL website.

Not only did the zones undergo extensive re branding, they now have wonderful websites to keep everyone up-to-date with their news. Listed below (alphabetically) are the 2010/11 VCL zones by these 'nicknames', which are linked to their websites.  All zones are eager to keep their sites up-to-date with great content and therefore VCL participants and their parents are encouraged to contribute.  Anyone interested in assisting with zone websites is encouraged to contact their zone by emailing
