The Finals Picture
The SEABL home and away season finished on Saturday night with losses to both the St Laurence Geelong Supercats and the Roderick Geelong Lady Supercats against the Bendigo Braves at the Geelong Arena.
Despite the losses, both teams had already secured second place on the East Conference, setting up a first round semi final double header against the first placed Dandenong Rangers.
The teams will travel to Dandenong Basketball Stadium on Saturday 18th August, with the women's game tipping off at 5.30pm and the men at 7.30pm. The winner of each game will earn the right to host the conference grand final two weeks later, while the loser will return to their home court one week later for the preliminary final and the chance to get back into the grand final.
A supporters bus will be organised at a cost of $25 per person which will include your ticket to the games. The bus will depart the Geelong Arena at 4.00pm to arrive in Dandenong in time for the 5.30pm tip off of the women's game and will return to Geelong at the conclusion of the men's game. Meanwhile, after a fantastic win over the McKinnon Cougars in their elimination final, the Geelong Supercats Big V Division 1 men have booked their berth into the grand final series for the fourth time in five years. The three game series will begin on their home court at the Geelong Arena Annexe on Sunday 19th August. They wiill play against the Mildura Heat, with tip off at 1pm. Following game 1 of the series, the Supercats will travel to Mildura the next weekend to play game 2 on the Saturday night and game 3 (if required) on the Sunday.
Make sure you're at the Arena this coming Sunday to cheer our boys on and give them the 1-0 lead before they hit thre road to Mildura!
