We had a few girls in foul trouble and decided we would go small and press and this paid off with all players contributing. We had players diving after every loose ball, and with an outstanding game from Chloe Lee, we ended up with a 22 point win which put the girls through to VC.”

Coach’s Comment: “The guys came ready to play and started well. Our third quarter was fantastic. Our fourth quarter was "interesting" because we forgot how to score. Down the stretch we nailed 9-of-10 free throws to seal the game. Lots and lots of improvement, and definitely on the right track with players starting to learn to play together.”

Coach’s Comment: “We were helped early in the game with some referee calls landing our way, and side tracking Melbourne from its focused game. Although these opportunities didn’t reflect in the scoring, making just 23% from the foul line and registering only 10 field goals for the first half. This slowed our running game down and we struggled to execute consistently in our offensive structure. A change in the second half with the offence provided additional scoring opportunities and we outscored Melbourne by three points. However, a late charge in the final quarter was just not enough to get over the line yet again.”

Georgia Potter and Bridget O’Keefe attacked from the second line which created turnovers and scoring opportunities. Jesse Hassell was dominant, which caused the opposition a few headaches. Poor conversion from our pressure cost us the game, making just three-of-16 from thre free-throw line.”

Coach’s Comment: “We had seen that Keilor had some high scoring wins so we knew it was going to be a tough battle. We came out strong, defending well and causing some turnovers and converting at times. We found it tough to get open shots against Keilor as their defence was tight. As the game went on we struggled to find good scoring opportunities. But even though we lost we kept Keilor to one of its lowest winning scores.”
