Vic Vipers topple league leaders

The hummel F-League was back in Victoria last weekend Series Four of Australia’s premier Futsal competition.

The event was hosted over two days with each of the eight teams taking the pitch three times at the YMCA Derrimut Health and Aquatic Centre.

Victorian teams had mixed fortunes with Vic Vipers leading the way with a clean sweep of their games including the highly anticipated clash against table topping Dural Warriors of New South Wales.

The game lived up to all expectations with the Melbourne based club running out 5-4 winners against the previously undefeated Warriors.

Despite the win, with only one Series left to play, the Vipers still trail the Warriors by six points on the ladder in the race for the top spot.

Jaguars Futbol Sala (6th  place) had their best series thus far having won two of their three games whilst Melbourne Heart (8th place) won one game and lost the other two against tough opposition in Dural Warriors and East Coast Heat.

St Albans Strikers had a weekend to forget, losing all three of their games to remain 7th on the ladder.

The first season of the hummel F-League will conclude on 8-9 September at the Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre in New South Wales.
