15U WOMEN

Alberta 43 - New Brunswick 48

In a closely fought game with separation in the score, New Brunswick held the lead most of the way, due to a better shooting percentage and a strong bench contribution. Alberta held the advantage in rebounding. After Alberta went on a late run to close to 1, Player of the Game Katie Corlett hit a key ‘2’ and then a free throw to restore the lead.

For New Brunswick, it was Courtney Bulman (11, 4 rebs), Eva Tumwine (11), Katie Corlett (10).

Alberta was led by Sofia Lucadello (15, 8 rebs), Laura Costello (6, 12 rebs), Chiso Ufondu (6, 10 rebs).

Saskatchewan 45 - Nova Scotia 53

Saskatchewan started strongly, led by 5 at the half, with a rebounding advantage (42-29( and more second chance points (18-6). Nova Scotia used their shooting and turnovers advantage to pull into the lead in the second half.

Nova Scotia was led by Alyson Fulton (11), Kelsey Rice (9, 9 rebs) , Kendra MacKinnon (8).

For Saskatchewan, it was Zayn Dornstauder (17, 16 rebs, 4 blocks, 58% shooting).

Newfoundland 78 - Prince Edward Island 41

With a shooting advantage of 49% to 22% and 30 point edge in points from the paint, Newfoundland went up early and finished strong.

For Newfoundland, it was Geana George (16), Kayla Thompson (12, 8 rebs), Kelsey Moore (12).

Prince Edward Island was led by Sarah Steele (13).

Quebec 64 - British Columbia 48 (Semi-Final 1)

With a shooting advantage (36% - 31%) including a 6-0 edge from outside the 3-point arc and rebounding edge (36-29), Quebec lead all the way, by as much as 22.

Quebec was led by Frederique Beauchamp (11, 5 rebs), Tamara Furquhar (10, 8 rebs, 4 assists), Alexis Racine (9).

For British Columbia, it was Jessica Hanson (10), Marissa Dheensaw (9).

Ontario 71 - Manitoba 73 (Semi-Final 2) (2OT) Regulation: 54-54, 1st OT: 64-64

A barnburner…closely played, with runs by each team. Largest lead by each was 8.

For Manitoba, it was Kyanna Giles (29, 7 rebs, 6 steals, 48% shooting), Kyia Giles (12, 5 rebs), raizel Guinto (10).

Ontario was led by Bridget Carleton (25, 11 rebs, 55% shooting), Keyira Parkes (10, 6 rebs), Kathleen Hill (10).

17U WOMEN

Saskatchewan 74 - Alberta 44

Saskatchewan led from beginning to end, aided by a 16% shooting edge, including 5 made ‘3’s. They also had a small edge in rebounding, points in the paint and turnovers.

For Saskatchewan, it was Caitlin Zacharias (14, 4 rebs), Madelaine Humbert (13, 11 rebs, 55% shooting), Charlotte Kot (13, 5 rebs, 57 % shooting).

Alberta was led by Brianna Ghali (7, 8 rebs), Shenelle Tamminen (7, 8 rebs).

Manitoba 56 - New Brunswick 61

New Brunswick led this game throughout although they had little scoring separation and Manitoba closed to within 2 in the last minute on an 8-0 run. Manitoba had a stats advantage in several categories, but the ‘3’ by player of the game, Grace Wade with seconds to go, lifted the host team into the win.

For New Brunswick, it was Grace Wade (14, 5 rebs), Mackenzie Balser (10, 4 rebs), Emily MacLeod (10).

Manitoba was led by Christina Posthumus (12, 6 rebs), Jenilyn Monton (12), Kerilynn Maclennan (10).

Newfoundland 67 - Prince Edward Island 55

Newfoundland went up early led by as much as 25 and then held on as Prince Edward Island closed the gap in the fourth period.

Newfoundland was led by Sydney Ezekiel (25, 9 rebs), Maria Carroll (17,), Rosemary Stanoev (11).

For Prince Edward Island, it was Erica Gillis (12, 9 rebs).

Ontario 72 - Quebec 58 (Semi-Final 1)

Ontario had great help from their bench (42 points) and a shooting edge (47% - 30% and 7/15 from 3-pt land) as they lad throughout, by as much as 26 points at one point.

Ontario was led by Hilary Hanaka (13), Megan Smith (11), Cassidy Crowe (10) – 11 players scored.

For Quebec, it was Sarah St-Fort (124 rebs, 5 steals), Elaine Potvin (10).

British Columbia 52 - Nova Scotia 65 (Semi-Final 2)               

Nova Scotia led most of the game. The teams were even in rebounds, BC shot a better percentage, but NS had more ‘3’s (7 -2), and a strong bench contribution (34-4).

Leading Nova Scotia was Daneesha Provo (18, 4 rebs), Candace Smith (15), Jane McLaughlin 13, 8 rebs).

For British Columbia, it was Kayla Gordon (13, 6 rebs), Abigail Dixon (12, 4 assists), Lauren Yearwood (11, 4 rebs).
