REMINDER for players in the COLTS program: COLTS training will be at Allsopp-Patterson Oval, Cambridge Park form this week commencing at 5pm. If you are unable to train contact your coach or manager. If the weather is questionable on the day a post will be uploaded to the JL Facebook & website pages.

The following grounds have been closed for the weekend of 25th & 26th May 2013. These games will be rescheduled for the BYE weekend.

The Sydney West PSSA Rugby League championships have been held recently to select the 11years and Opens teams to compete at the NSW PSSA Championships later in June. The 11’s carnival will be held at Hoxton Park and the Opens carnival at Dubbo. We like to thank both the Parramatta and Penrith Clubs for their continued support of our program.

St Marys Leagues Club will be hosting an NRL Masters Carnival at St Marys Leagues Stadium on Saturday 8 June. This will be a Family Gala Day and all details are available on the attached flyer.

Following our CUBs program for 2013 the merit squads have been announced. Congratulations to those who have been named in the merit squads and to those who represented their clubs in the program.

There are games scheduled in the U13s, U14s & U15s and this information regarding these are attached to the squads.

Penrith Junior League are accepting expressions of interest to run Restricted Weight Competitions in the U6 & U13 age groups.

The Western Sydney Academy of Sport teams were presented with their gear following a recovery session. Tom Eisenhuth from the Penrith Panthers was on hand to present the gear and congratulate the players. Also in attendance was Kevin Wise from Parramatta, Ian Robinson from Penrith JL and Martin Bullock, General Manager of the WSAS. Congratulations to all players and staff.

From 7 January 2013, smoking is banned in spectator areas at public sports grounds and other recreational areas in NSW.

Attached is the junior representative draw for both Penrith & the WSAS for 2013. All details which have been confirmed are entered and it will be updated as confirmation is received in relation to away games.

In 2013 we will be offering Rugby League and Panther Tag to Women in the Penrith district. This will be offered in both as Youth and Senior competitions. We are also looking to get an U6 all girls competition up and running for 2013 to introduce young girls to the game playing against other young girls. To be part of these competitions contact your club secretary or the junior league office.

Following a twelve-month consultative process with our junior league clubs their recommendations were taken to the board for discussion and resolution.

Attached is a fact sheet of these together with some rule changes for 2013.

If anyone feels that any of these changes are detrimental to our competitions please forward your concerns through your club secretary for a right of reply by the JL.

The district has a new CUBS program being introduced in 2013 for the U12 to U15 age groups.

Squad lists and information on important dates is attached.

Our 2013 Harold Matthews and SG Ball Train-on Squads have been announced together with the Under 17 Development Squad.

To be part of these squads it is important for all to remember these players are to return to the club they were selected from following the program.

A new Working with Children Check will be introduced in NSW from late 2012 or early 2013. Until then, the current check continues.

Under the new check there can only be two results for a new Working with Children Check - a clearance or a bar and all workers and volunteers will need to apply for their own check once every five years.

Congratulations to all winners at the Annual Penrith & Districts Junior League Presentation Night which was held on Wednesday 19 September.

The major award: Overall Club Championship went to the St Marys Junior Rugby League Club.
