Congratulations Melissa Atkin!

We would like to say a big thanks to everyone who nominated a female leader from their community as part of the Women’s Round NSW/ACT competition. We had some incredible nominees and it was very difficult to choose the winner. We could only choose five finalists but there were many many more that we’d like to congratulate.

Nominations came from all over NSW and the ACT featuring women who are leaders in their AFL community; Nominations included players, coaches, umpires, presidents, committee members, mothers and supporters of Australia’s Game.

Our five finalists have been chosen for their outstanding leadership qualities and tireless work within their AFL community.Congratulations to the following ladies who will each receive a pink Sherrin football signed by members of the GWS GIANTS.
Emma Polette - President of New South Wales Australian Football Umpires Association
Ingird Carroll - Cronulla Junior Australia Football Club
Marelle Sharpe - President of Eastern Suburbs Bulldogs
Melissa Atkin - Social Director at Warner's Bay Bulldogs
Zeaona McDonagh - Player at Penrith Ramettes

We’d also like to acknowledge Kathy Heath, Donna Mullane and Eugenie Hickey who were very close runners-up.

The major prize went to Zeaona McDonagh who will be attending the GWS GIANTS Ladies lunch this Friday. Click here to find out more about Zeaona McDonagh.

We’ll be profiling all our finalists in the coming few days so keep checking out www.aflnswact.com.au or join us on Facebook or Twitter for more.
