Heat Policy

Heat Timing rules for EDJBT games

All stadiums must have a thermometer.

On hot days, court temperature must be taken hourly whilst the stadium is in use and must be recorded in a permanent record kept at the stadium.

If the stadium is in sections, the temperature must be taken in each section.

When the court temperature reaches 30oC the Venue Supervisor must consider implementing and where the court temperature reaches 35oC, must implement the following timing rules:

If no time-out has been called when the clock reaches 15:00, then a time-out will be called by the referees at the next whistle.

Compulsory timeout at the first whistle on or after the clock reads 10:00

Compulsory timeout at the first whistle on or after the clock reads 5:00

When the court temperature reaches 40oC games must be abandoned.
